How to Join MTAC
Membership in the Music Teachers' Association of California, San Francisco Branch is governed by guidelines set forth by the Music Teachers' Association of California.
To qualify for MTAC membership, the applicant must etiher have a diploma (i.e. Bachelor of Arts or Music) or apply through the point system. Points are awarded for private study in musicianship with their major instrument or voice. Points are also awarded for solo or ensemble recitals. The total points will determine your acceptance as an active member or provisional member. Student membership and Business Affiliate membership are also offered.

Membership Application Schedule
Annual membership dues must be sent to the State Office and postmarked on or before July 31st (per the MTAC Bylaws, Section 16b). Members who renew by this date are eligible to participate in Certificate of Merit for the following year and will be listed in the State Directory. (Members must pay a Reinstatement Fee ($40.00) and submit a Reinstatement Application Form to restore their membership if their dues are postmarked after July 31st; they also will not be eligible for CM)
All transfer requests must be fully approved by both the State Office and the appropriate Branch on or before July 31st to ensure that a member's updated Branch information will be included in the State Directory.

Meetings and Newsletters
Our branch holds several meetings each year. All members are invited to come and meet with colleagues, exchange ideas and discuss issues of importance to the organization. Meetings feature a prominent guest speaker on a topic of specific interest followed by a social hour.
