CERTIFICATE of MERIT - This evaluation program is open to students of all levels. Students prepare for a yearly evaluation in March, and qualified students will be eligible to perform at the Branch Honor Recital and/or the annual State Convention in July. The evaluation includes technique, sight-reading, ear-training, theory and performance. For more information on our branch schedule go to Branch Program.
VOCE - Vocalists, Orchestral Instruments, Chamber Music, Ensembles The purpose of this program is to open new channels for expanded opportunities and incentives for teachers and coaches. Also to inspire top caliber students toward their highest standard of achievement through competing at the local level. Then after passing State competition evaluations and receiving monetary prizes, they perform at the Honorary VOCE recital at the State Convention. Currently many of the winners of the VOCE program are distinguished artists in various orchestral and opera theatres statewide and in Europe.

COMPOSERS TODAY
Composers Todays is a program designed to assist and encourage teachers to include composition in their curriculum. It provides both students and teachers an opportunity to have their compositions evaluated by qualified judges or evaluators and heard in public performance. It is the capstone to being a complete musician.

CONVENTION - San Francisco Branch send delegates to the convention every year and part of their registration fees may be compensated by our Branch. The convention features performances by honored students, teachers and recording artists. Competitions take place for soloists and concertos. Teachers may attend lectures on various topics. It is filled with many educational programs, meetings, master classes and social gatherings such as banquets and luncheons.
The Convention 2006 will be held in Los Angeles, Biltmore Hotel on June 30 to July 4, 2006. We encourage you to plan to send your Early Bird Registration by June 12, 2006. The 2006 convention application form can be found on the last page of the Summer 2006 Convention issue, "The California Music Teacher" magazine.
