Recap of September General Meeting

Let us thank Certificate of Merit co-chairs Esther Chan and Keiko Banks for leading our branch general meeting on Sept. 16. The meeting highlighted and detailed important changes in the new CM Syllabus and clarified CM policy and procedure. The meeting was required for teachers entering students into CM.

Also at the meeting was a vote and approval of 2 small changes in the MTAC-SF bylaws. Here are the changes:

There is now an Addendum to Article Three, section 1 which reads: The Branch or State Mailing List, in any form, may only be used for music-related purposes. In Article nine, Section 4, the second complete sentence has been changed to read as follows: The Branch Membership Secretary shall send a change-of-status form, verification of previous membership in good standing, the State reinstatement fee, and the State dues to the State Office Membership Coordinator. A change to Article Three, section 4, regarding contributory membership was discussed, but eventually shelved until the next meeting.

The 2008 Certificate of Merit dates are set for March 2 & 9, 2008 at San Francisco State University. The Honors Recital will be held on March 16. Registration deadline for your students is on November 15, 2007, which is coming right up! Reminder: Direct all communications regarding CM to Esther Chan only. Do not contact Keiko Banks.
