Recitals & Concerts, Master Class, Certificate of Merit, Piano Competition

Recitals & Concerts

The San Francisco Branch of MTAC sponsors monthly recitals for the student of the branch members. All private studios and their students have the opportunity to perform. We feature all levels and ages from beninners to advanced, children to adult. All of the recitals are open to the public and free of charge. We also offer special holiday recital with invitation of an young artist, winner of the Young Artist Guild, and our annual teachers' Fundraising Recital.

Master Class

Our annual master classes are designed to enrich our students by having internationally renowned artists as master teachers. In the past we have had artists such as Karl Schnabel, John O'Conner, Adam Wibrowsky, John Perry, Eduardo Delgado and Jane Bastien for piano and former Metropolitan Opera star Lucine Amara for an unforgettable vocal master class which was part of our 100 year celebration.

Program

Our annual master class is open to the public. Students and parents as well as teachers are strongly encouraged to attend.

Certificate of Merit

The Certificate of Merit is sponsored by the California State Music Teachers' Association and is open to students of all levels. Students prepare for a yearly evaluation in March, and chosen students will participate for the annual state convention in July. The evaluation includes musicianship, technique, prepared literature, sightreading, ear-training and music history. More information at www.mtac.org

Piano Competition

Our branch annually organizes a piano competition for young students of our members. The purpose of the competition is to promote excellence in different stages of piano study. The winners are to share their talents and artistic ability with the general public in the competition recital. Repertoire required includes baroque, classical, romantic and 20th century periods. All winners appear in the winner's recital and monetary prizes are awarded at that time.

200 Piano Competition was held on April 6, 2008. The winners are;
